Lisa Milroy Shortsighted Cat Knitting A Sweater  2003

 
This charming drawing is indeed of a great big old fat cat doing a bit of knitting with the radio on in the background. She looks quite elderly and is wearing a pair of rather old-fashioned spectacles. The knitting is almost finished, it’s a chunky-knit pullover with five daisies on the front.

The cat has been transformed into a human or a storybook character and her slight disability, in this case her visual impairment, is shown to be no barrier at all to her ability to engage in artistic creativity.
