This is a drawing of a rose bush, with clusters of rose hips hanging on the stems. It differs from a botanical drawing, as the artist has used the fragility of pencil marks to communicate the brittle nature of the flower stems. The intricate branching stems are drawn lightly, so that they seem brittle and fragile. The pencil lines are very slight and slender, like a web.
