Prominent figures from many creative disciplines were invited to give an in-gallery talk about a work in the collection that inspires or interests them. Speakers included:
- TV comedian Harry Hill relaxed with The Poet Reclining 1915 Marc Chagall
- Cultural Critic and Broadcaster, Jacqueline Springer talked about the recent sculpture Skateboarderistismatronics (fan) 2004 Alexandre da Cunha
- The Radio One DJ Nihal preferred the visual impact of the four-screen projection, Video Quartet 2002 Christian Marclay
- Hip-Hop Producer Charlie Dark gave his talk among the monumental dark floating rectangles in the Rothko Room
- Musician, Composer and Multi-media Artist DJ Spooky was inspired by the stark geometrical rigour of Untitled 1965/71 Robert Morris, in the Minimalism hub
- Musician, Writer, Curator David Toop chose Ad Reinhardt's Abstract Painting No. 5 1962

- Artist Stella Vine admires the contrived eroticism of Sleeping Girl 1943 Balthus
