The writings of Gilles Deleuze, and his collaborations with Félix
Guattari, have had a major impact on theory and practice in many
disciplines. This two-day event, a series of presentations and performances,
will bring together an international range of contributors to consider
some of the ways in which Deleuze's thought has been taken up and
put to work in different media and art forms. It sets out to explore
the power of Deleuzian neo-aesthetics, and also its limits. To what
extent has it transformed the production and reception of contemporary
art practices? What is at stake, artistically, politically and philosophically,
in the adoption of Deleuze by such practices?
