BP Artist Talk: Keith Tyson

Date:  28 November 2006
Venue:  Tate Britain

Keith Tyson is influenced by his pursuit of knowledge and his fascination with scientific concepts and philosophical theories as a means of exploring the universe. He discusses his body of work, which he has said he uses to ‘locate myself, to find out where I am’.

The artist is known for his complex and engaging studio drawings; unusual games, objects or machines; and extraordinary large-scale paintings. From early work where he cast the entire KFC menu in lead to his recent nature paintings, Tyson continues to comment on human existence with a wry wit.
