BP British Art Lecture: David Adjaye

David Adjaye is recognised as one of the leading architects of his generation. His studio, Adjaye/Associates, has won a number of prestigious commissions including two new-build Idea Stores for the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and a new home for the Museum of Contemporary Art in Denver. He has just completed the Nobel Peace Centre in Oslo and is designing the Bernie Grant Centre, a theatre, café and square in Tottenham, realising the dreams of late civil rights leader Bernie Grant. David has also collaborated with many artists including Chris Ofili on the British Pavilion at the 2003 Venice Biennale and Olafur Eliasson on his installation at this year’s biennale. He is currently building a double studio space in New York for the artists Lorna Simpson and James Casebere.
