UBS Openings: Saturday Live: The Guerrilla Girls: Your Cultural Conscience
Date: 1 July 2006
Venue: Tate Modern
The Guerrilla Girls are the original antidote to art-world injustice. Formed in New York in 1985, they adopted the names of dead female artists in order to focus attention on issues they were highlighting rather than their personalities.
These art-world superheroines give a multimedia presentation, which considers the UBS Openings: Tate Modern Collection 2006 displays from a distinctly feminist point of view.
