The honey can attract flies, which would then be zapped by
the insect-o-cutor. When Pharmacy was first shown in
New York, Hirst cut holes in the gallery windows to allow
flies into the space.

Honey was traditionally believed to have medicinal purposes. According
to Hirst, the honeycombs reflect the natural, non-human world which
is set against the man-made world represented by drugs and packaging
