Celebrate Summer at Tate Britain Jazz brunches, homemade ice-lollies and outdoor fun kick start the summer holidays

Tate Britain is celebrating summer with a range of free fun outdoor activities and seasonal offers on its public lawn, from picnics and homemade ice-lollies to jazz brunches.

Highlights will include:

  •  Free fun outdoor activities will be available to visitors of all ages who can get creative with art easels or a game of ping pong with bats featuring William Blake and David Bomberg artworks or a bounce on Tate Britain’s space hoppers.
  • Visitors are invited to relax outside on artist-designed deckchairs featuring designs by Michael Craig Martin, Gary Hume, Catherine Yass, Sam Taylor-Wood and Keith Tyson. 
  • Picnics will be available from the Rex Whistler Restaurant and there will be an outdoor bar serving snacks, Pimms and much more. Families can also enjoy a special children’s pack lunch.
  •  A vintage ice-cream cart will serve homemade ice-lollies and on select days throughout the summer, Tate Britain will also have an outdoor BBQ.
  •  Every Saturday in July, the Rex Whistler Restaurant will be a hosting a Jazz brunch on the terrace lawn serving summer dishes and brunch classics accompanied by a three piece jazz trio. Menu highlights include freshly shucked oysters, eggs benedict and Bloody Mary cocktails alongside seasonal British seafood, hand cut steak tartare and fine British cheese.
