The Custom Print Service runs in tandem with Art on Demand.
The Custom Print Service offers unframed reproduction prints of almost any artwork in Tate's collection in a range of sizes and paper types. All prints are made from large- format transparencies, or high-resolution digital images and are individually printed (not mass-produced) and have a semi-matt finish. They are printed on your choice of paper, either canvas, watercolour or photographic paper (providing the artist or copyright holder has given their approval). Tate will clear copyright on your behalf and a copyright fee payable to the artist or their estate is included in the costs.
Please note that the dimensions shown on our order form refer to the size of paper to be used for printing and not the actual image size. The image will be as large as possible on the specified paper size, keeping the proportions of the original work.
We do not offer a framing or stretching service in this instance but the quality of the finished product is high and many customers do frame these prints to hang on the wall.
Black and white prints are also available for research at the cost of £20.00 plus VAT and postage and packing.
From receipt of payment, an order usually takes around 10-14 working days to process.
However, please be aware that all orders are subject to availability. In some cases new photography may be necessary and can take 6-8 weeks, or copyright may need to be cleared for reproduction and a copyright holder's reply cannot be guaranteed within a particular time period.
If you are posting us your order, please ensure that you leave plenty of time for us to your order to be delivered.
If your request is urgent please let us know by e-mail or telephone so we can arrange another method of delivery or possibly collection from the gallery.
Please note that Tate Enterprises cannot be held responsible for loss or damage to prints in transit. This does not affect your statutory rights.
