Other collections
Auction catalogues from the major UK auction houses and their overseas operations are held from the 1960s onwards, plus selective collections from British provincial and foreign auctioneers and dealers. These are not on the on-line catalogue. Many earlier auction catalogues are also held on microform. Contact the Reading Rooms for information on auction catalogues.
Documentary Audio and Video Recordings
The Library and Archive hold documentary audio and video recordings both published and unpublished, including recordings of many Tate events and interviews with artists. The are listed on the Library catalogue and available for consultation in the Library reading room. Works of art in these media are not normally added to Library and Archive collections.
Microfilm and Microfiche Collections
Important documentary collections of exhibition and auction catalogues, periodical runs and image collections. These are not fully indexed on the on-line catalogue. Contact the Reading Rooms for further information.
Press Cuttings
Around half a million press cuttings culled mainly from British newspapers, weeklies and magazines, from the 1960s onwards, are held in files on individual artists and selective subjects. Although cuttings are not individually indexed, a general record (headed 'Press Cuttings') appears on the on-line catalogue where there is a substantial amount of material on an artist. To check what is held on other artists and general subjects contact the Reading Rooms.
Printed Ephemera Relating to Artists
Private view invitations, artists' CVs, flyers, small posters, etc. are collected. Although items are not individually indexed, a general record (headed 'Ephemera') appears on the on-line catalogue where there is a substantial amount of material on an artist.
