Tate Images Online

Tate Images

Tate Images offers a quick and efficient online service for professional image users at www.tate-images.com.
From here the Tate Collection is easily and instantly accessible, enabling you to:

  • Access imagery twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week
  • Browse the entire Tate Collection using a keyword based search engine
  • Select images and save selections to a personal light box
  • Obtain online quotes for the use of images
  • Download low-resolution imagery for layout purposes
  • Purchase and download high-resolution images

We hope you will find our website easy and intuitive to use but please do not hesitate to contact us if we can help you find the perfect picture. We have an in-depth knowledge of the Tate Collection, and can either point you in the right direction or, if you prefer, can select images for you.

Many of our images are available at high-resolution and can be downloaded for immediate use. Where these are not available we will have them scanned for you within a maximum five working days of receiving your order.

Tate Images - Licensing Services

If you would prefer not to order images and rights through our online service click here for our Licence for Reproduction form - you can then print it off and send the completed form to us by fax or post.

Tate Images can also supply black-and-white prints and colour transparencies for reproduction purposes. Black-and-white prints can be purchased from us. Colour transparencies are available for hire on payment of a fee.

Copyright

Tate Images is a specialist art collection and a number of our works are still in copyright, since an artwork remains the intellectual property of the artist or the artist's estate for seventy years after the artist's death. This means permission to use the artwork must be obtained from the copyright owner as well as from Tate, and that an additional fee may be charged. It is the client's responsibility to obtain permission before a reproduction of any work or content is made: if permission is not obtained you will be infringing copyright.

Further information on Tate copyright policy is available here.

Terms and Conditions

Our Terms and Conditions set out the basis of our working relationship with you and you will be asked to agree to them prior to purchasing images from us. It is important that you read and understand these before proceeding with your licence request. View our terms and conditions here:

Tate Agencies

Tate Images works in association with Art Resource who also hold and license artworks from the Tate collection. This is the only official source of Tate artworks in the USA.
