Access to the Research Centre is by appointment and for reference only. All readers are required to complete the registration procedure.

Opening hours

Reading Room: Monday – Friday, 10.00–17.45
Archive and Special Collections Room: Monday – Wednesday, 11.00–17.00

The Research Centre will be closed from Wednesday 24 December 2008 and will reopen on Monday 5th January 2009

(The Research Centre is closed on scheduled national holidays and will open later at 11.00 on the first Tuesday of the month)

To make an appointment

If you're planning to come in to view material from the Archive or Gallery Records Collections, please make an appointment before visiting. The Archive and Special Collection Reading Room is often full to capacity and we are encouraging all researchers to book with us in advance. This applies also to viewing the Library's special collections of artists' books and other rare publications.
