In Untitled 2/72 the orange centre of the composition is framed by four pink bands, each of which is the same width as its distance from the edge of the painting. Like his colleague, the sculptor Sir Anthony Caro, whom he knew from his time at Christ’s College Cambridge, Moon rejected representational imagery and concerned himself with constructive methods.
