Sonia Boyce: From Tarzan to Rambo: English Born `Native' Considers her Relationship to the Constructed/Self Image and her Roots in Reconstruction, 1987 Sonia Boyce

Sonia Boyce's art is noteworthy for its eloquent and intense intersection of theory and practice, through activating the transformative power of objects and images. Over the last six years, her work has developed across diverse media and through participation with other people in what could loosely be called 'improvisational collaborations'.

Since the mid-80s Sonia has exhibited widely in the UK and abroad. Recent monographs include "Sonia Boyce: Speaking in Tongues", published by Kala Press (1997), "Annotations 2/Sonia Boyce: Performance", published by inIVA, the Institute of International Visual Arts (1998) and "Recent Sonia Boyce: La, La, La", published by Reed College (2001).
