Issue 9
‘Art is a guarantee of sanity’ says Louise Bourgeois in a rare interview from Tate’s archive. Curator Frances Morris recalls making the original film, and presents an overview of the Bourgeois exhibition at Tate Modern. At Tate Liverpool, three of this year’s Turner Prize nominees, Nathan Coley, Mark Wallinger and Mike Nelson, tell us about their work. We find out what happened when Roman Ondák asked people who had never seen him to draw his portrait, based purely on a description; and we capture highlights of a performance by Ulla von Brandenburg.
