Tate Modern will be closed to the general public on Thursday 16 June 2016. This is to allow for a special preview for UK schoolchildren ahead of the new Tate Modern’s public opening the following day. One hundred schools from across the UK have been invited to this preview day which will be a celebration of the vital contribution young people make to Tate.

On Friday 17 June 2016 the new Tate Modern will be unveiled with a spectacular variety of spaces for visitors and for art, from the raw industrial Tanks to a panoramic roof terrace overlooking the London skyline.
