What’s in the guide?
The guide covers all the collection displays at Tate Modern and includes content on more than 50 artworks.
With the digital guide you can:
- watch videos of the artists at work
- hear what major artists have to say about their own work
- listen to the music that inspired them
- listen to commentaries from leading cultural critics, musicians and writers
- play interactive games.
And for families
Explore the Tate Modern collection together with our newly updated Family Multimedia Guide.
Find out about different artists and their practice, discover how works were made and engage with the art as a group through games and activities. You’ll hear the characters on the guide joke and debate about the art they encounter, inviting you into their conversation and encouraging you to discuss what you see around you in the gallery.
Tate Family Experience
Try out the Tate Modern Family Experience and explore the gallery through three adventures that will put you right in the middle of the action! This is an audio guide with a difference!
In My teacher is an alien, two teenagers have to finish a school project with a difference – you could say it’s out of this world…
In Writer’s block, best-selling author Sonia Scrape, has a different problem – she’s run out of ideas for her scary books; you’re her only hope!
But for your first adventure, you and your family will be joining the Memory Retrieval Team! A code RED emergency, your mission, if you choose to accept it – is to enter the Artist’s brain.
Working together as a group, you’ll be playing games, sharing ideas, and creating stories, and of course, looking at some amazing art!
This experience has been designed for families with children aged 7–11, but younger or older children may enjoy it too! English language only.
