Tate St Ives Project – temporary closure
The Tate St Ives Project will expand, improve and transform the gallery. Major structural work is being undertaken inside the gallery from October 2015 until May 2016. This work includes the refurbishment of the activity space and starting the construction of a new multi-purpose learning and events room. This will involve both demolition and construction to take place over the winter and spring months. The gallery will be temporarily closed on Monday 5 October 2015 until Saturday 21 May 2016.
Construction work on the extension site is ongoing. The new gallery space and pavilion building are making steady progress as the walls of the building continue to go up. The Tate St Ives project will be completed in 2017.
During the summer months, admission to the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden may be restricted to prevent overcrowding.
