ARTIST ROOMS on Tour with The Art Fund supported by the Scottish Government is an inspired partnership that will fulfil the vision for this extraordinary collection: that it should be shared across the UK.

The work of German photographer August Sander (1876–1964) will be on show at Duff House from April 2012. Sander created hundreds of photographic portriats in his attempt to document contemporary German society. His detached observational style, and his inclusion of images of society’s outcasts alongside its success stories, reflected his professed aim ‘to see things as they are and not as they should or could be’.
