It makes me realise how important it is to look and question and explore ideas and materials alongside students
Artist-led workshop, teacher 2012
We want to support students to gain a deeper enjoyment and understanding of art through working with practising artists and the Tate collection. Workshops take place in the gallery where students encounter artwork alongside their teachers and artists; sharing thinking and learning to create a unique and diverse learning context designed to encourage individuals to engage with art, ask questions and form opinions.
In 2012–13 the workshops were led by: Caroline Achaintre, Larry Achiampong, Judith Brocklehurst, Chloe Cooper, Shaun Doyle, Sam Keogh, Jenny Moore, Katie Schwab, Adam Walker and Francis Wasser.
- Two workshops in each time slot per day (strict maximum of 16 students per group)
- Each school can book up to two workshops per term
- Groups must sign in at the gallery 20 minutes before the start time.
