Library and Archive show and tell: Nimai Chatterji

This Show and Tell will provide a further opportunity to explore the collection, amassed by Nimai Chatterji, of items relating to the transformation in art and literature and the 20th century avant-garde and its precursors.  Over the last two years, four different cataloguers and a cohort of volunteers have been helping to make the collection more accessible by cataloguing and fine sorting material ready for use by researchers. Highlights will include personal items, correspondence, examples from the thousands of rare and unusual serials and items of ephemera, artists’ books and books about artists, flicker books and optical toys, Alice in Wonderland-related material, vintage postcards and much more.

The cataloguing of this 3000 box collection, which is the largest housed in Tate Archive, is being generously funded by Tate Members.

Hosted by Adrian Glew, Archivist, Emma Howgill and Morwenna Roche, Archive Cataloguers.
