Visit our family space in the Clore Learning Centre on the first floor of the gallery, with beautiful views across the River Mersey. You can take time out from around the gallery to relax, play and create in this space, designed just for families!

Look out for our new Action Space opening on Wednesday 20 May, inspired by our forthcoming Jackson Pollock: Blind Spots exhibition.

Pompompom has been designed by Tate Liverpool Family Collective. Weave and play your way through our web of woolen threads, or take a card into the gallery to look for your own circles and lines.

Family Collective are a ground breaking initiative consisting of 13 parents who have been invited to work with artists at Tate Liverpool to co-create on the early years and families programme. The installation in the Clore Learning Centre follows on from our February half-term event where families took over the programme to design and run activities for families. Pompompom developed out of Family Collective’s interest in Simon Starling’s Five-Man Pedersen which is on display in the DLA Piper Series: Constellations, and they drew upon the playful connections between the wheels of the bike, and the simplicity of ways of joining together circles and lines.
