Join us this summer for Blueprint Festival 2014, a 3-day festival of art, music and dance for young people.

Blueprint is the starting point for building a community of young creatives in the city and the region, interacting, exploring, making and experiencing art. Led by Tate Collective Liverpool, Blueprint Festival 2014 will be a three day festival where visitors can experience surprising encounters with art installations, music, spoken word, dance, theatre and a parade of living sculptures.

The festival opens with the launch of the Blueprint exhibition at Tate Liverpool on Friday July 18. The exhibition features a selection of new works by the most innovative young artists from Liverpool and the North West. We are celebrating the launch with performances by acclaimed bands including Stealing Sheep at Tate Liverpool and an after party at the Kazimier.

Head to Chavasse Chavasse Park and Tate Liverpool on Saturday for exciting live performances by bands including Cavalry, Seawicthes, The Orielles,  Jessie Scarlet; spoken word by David Loy; workshops by Levantes Dance Theatre, Rub-A-Glove and a special performance by Edge FWD. There will be an opportunity to become a part of the Blueprint Parade by lending a creative hand in building living sculptures throughout the day.

Join Tate from 18.00 when the ground floor will be taken over with DJs, visuals and a design workshop based around Mondrian and his Studios. A digital spectacle will emerge from the day’s activities showcasing the festival and the people taking part in it. Live music from local bands will provide the soundtrack to a mass collaborative event.

On Sunday, Tate Liverpool will be taken over by young designers, graphic artists and printmakers selling their work at an art fair produced in collaboration with new startup InPrint, while acoustic musical performances animate Tate Liverpool and the Albert Dock. Jonzo will be helping people create their own zine of the festival.

Visitors to Blueprint aged 25 and under can claim free entry to Mondrian and his Studios from 19-20 July. ID may be required for proof of age. Make sure to claim 20% off in the cafe with your ticket.

Blueprint is organised by Tate Collective Liverpool for young people aged 15-25.

Blueprint takes place as part of Flux Liverpool, a city-wide festival for young people taking place in Liverpool from 17 July –2 August 2014. Taking place at arts venues around the city, the festival will give young creatives the opportunity to showcase their talent through workshops, exhibitions, and performances.

Blueprint is part of Circuit, a four year national programme connecting 15–25 year olds to the arts in galleries and museums . Led by Tate and funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, it provides opportunities for young people to steer their own learning and create cultural activity across art disciplines.
