Welcome to the latest issue of Compass, your guide to Tate Liverpool’s programme. Featuring articles exploring new exhibitions and more, members of the team provide direct insights and links into the themes and specific works running through the gallery this summer.

Artistic Director Francesco Manacorda said: ‘Tate Liverpool’s summer season emphasises modernity and its ambition to bring abstraction into the world through architecture and domesticity.’ To that end, this latest edition, subtitled Abstraction into the World, includes new writing on a complementary pairing of exhibitions, Mondrian and his Studios and Nasreen Mohamedi.

In a special summer issue we also take a look at the surprisingly practical wartime applications of abstraction, a Liverpool Biennial-curated collection show and radical architect Claude Parent, whose work has dramatically transformed the aesthetic and function of the Wolfson Gallery.

Available in the foyer, shop and galleries for £1, we would love your feedback on the latest addition to Tate Liverpool.
