Jeff Keen (1923–2012) was a pioneer of experimental film whose rapid-fire animations, multiple screen projections and raucous performances redefined multimedia art in Britain. In conjunction with Gazapocalypse - Return to the Golden Age, Keen’s installation in the Tanks at Tate Modern, this very special live performance in the Tanks on Friday 21 September at 20.00 will feature projections and live music and actions performed by Keens daughter Stella Starr and a range of Keens collaborators, including Alan Baker, Chris Blackburn, Rob Gawthrop, Michael Paysden as Mike Movie and Jason Williams as Silverhead.
See attached programme notes.
Following the Jeff Keen performance, we highly recommend Cinema as a Subversive Art: An All-Night Filmic Wake for Amos Vogel, presented by LUX and Litte Joe on 21-22 September 23.00 - 07.30 at the Cinema Museum. Part of the nationwide Scala Beyond season.
Part of the series The Tanks: Art in Action
