Involving practical and discussion based activities in response to Tate’s collection the session explores the use of language and text in art. It is designed to support and extend your classroom practice, opening up a shared discussion around how art can generate debate and promote critical thinking.
Artist Emma Hart will run three sessions looking at how language shapes our encounter with art.
The sessions can be attended as a series or as independent workshops.
Writing: beginning, authoring, producing
How can we own the response to an artwork – how does the artwork involve us? What does the artwork need from us – How can we author the encounter? How does the artwork produce something, do something now, and not speak to the past?
