Grey Cube 113

Grey Cube 113 is taking over the lockers in the Tanks at Tate Modern, presenting three different site-specific interventions on each day of Offprint.

Imagining the Turbine Hall to be the scale of a locker, the exhibitions will present the works of selected publishers, artists and authors featured in the Turbine Hall during the event, including Cristina de Middel, Maya Rochat, The Plantation Journal, Self Publish Be Happy and Copy Press with Chris Fite-Wassilak.

Selected curatorial students from Central Saint Martins will respond with their images and writings to themes of the exhibitions.

Grey Cube 113 aims to activate rarely used areas of Tate Modern to open up a space for a collaboration between Central Saint Martins students and established artists and authors while offering to the public the possibility to experience different museum spaces in an alternative and more intimate way.

Biography:

Grey Cube 113 started in 2016 as an independent curatorial project between curator Giulia Civardi and young artists based in London. A series of site-specific exhibitions were staged inside the locker Civardi kept during three years at Central Saint Martins, with the intent to challenge artists’ abilities to interact with an unusual space and to investigate ways of perceiving artworks and their related information.
