Jubliee weekend at Tate Modern

Enjoy the Jubilee at Tate with a BBQ, British beers, hot sandwiches, desserts, Pimm’s and fizz

Confused and wondering where to base yourself for the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations?

Call off the search! At Tate Modern we have gone one better than a street party with our very own riverside party, including a BBQ, hot sandwiches, desserts, British beers, Pimm’s and fizz.

All weekend we will be grilling up the best of British fare including Donald Russell beef burgers, Cumberland sausages and Kentish field mushrooms. We don’t enjoy the thought of thirsty party-goers so we are offering a selection of British beers and ciders such as Fuller’s moreish, organic pale ale ‘Honey Dew’. Those in need of serious refreshment should look to Harviestoun’s ‘Schehallion’; its zesty, grapefruit-infused hops offering the perfect antidote to the thirstiest of palates.

Indulging devoted Sunday roasters we will be serving chicken, beef and honey-roast vegetable Yorkshire pudding wraps with all the trimmings. As well as a nod to that British classic of pie and mash with coronation chicken, and steak and gravy. After you’ve recovered, stroll over to our dessert stand which will be singing an ode to the British summertime. Offering scones with jam and clotted cream, summer pudding, Eton mess and everything that’s fruity and creamy in between.  Then its off to the Pimm’s tent for something to wash down that tang of gluttony and raise a glass to the Queen in a fittingly British salute.

So no excuses. Come and enjoy being terribly British; with a great British feast and one of the best views in London here at Tate!
