Curious With Barbican Guildhall Creative Learning

Drop in to an alternative showcase of pop-up performances and participative installations that take a provocative look at the production of knowledge

Curious is an alternative showcase of pop-up performances and participative installations by Masters students from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. This event addresses the theme of production through enquiry into different ways of ‘knowing’ – through embodied experience; through our relationship to physical and sonic materials; and through non-verbal communication and collaboration.

Curious will question dominant forms of knowledge production; and open up a dynamic, inspiring, activist learning environment. Come and go: watch, listen, wander, be surprised, have chats with artists, participate, comment and discuss. This is for anyone who is keen to experience progressive live art forms in intriguing, provocative ways. Our intention is to generate discussion and fresh ways of seeing Tate's collection through experiencing new work.

TBC A key-note intervention by a renowned guest.

Collaboration with the Feminist Library

As part of the event, there will be a series of performed, improvised one-to-one micro walks leading out from Tate Exchange to the work of women artists at Tate. These will explore the production of women’s work through performance and music, utilising specialist resources at the Feminist Library.

This event is programmed by Barbican Guildhall Creative Learning, a Tate Exchange Associate.
