Nada Air – the fastest way to go nowhere! With John Hansard Gallery

Check in to the inaugural flight of exclusive airline Nada Air – take a seat and enjoy your trip to nowhere...

The Department for Doing Nothing (DfDN) is proud to launch Nada Air at Tate Exchange. Come fly with us and go absolutely nowhere.

Being a unique experience of course we haven't yet finished building the plane. Once you've checked in and taken your seat, our fabulous cabin crew will take you through the flight safety procedure before inviting you to participate in an activity of your choice to help build essential parts for the plane. All parts will be made from materials that have been discarded as the user can do nothing with them – so naturally we will put them to good use. We will be working with excerpts from the Mass Observation Report on People in Production (1942), the Tate Production kit, and How To Land A Plane by Mark Vanhoenacker (a flight poet whose first piece of counsel for every pilot is Do nothing).

Led by John Hansard Gallery, In-Focus Training Ltd, Southampton Youth Offending Service and Compass School. Supported by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, Artswork, Arts Council England and the University of Southampton.

This event is programmed by John Hansard Gallery, a Tate Exchange Associate.
