Music to Inspire With Museum of Homelessness

Join an inspirational afternoon of singing and new music

As part of the Museum of Homelessness State of the Nation weekender, London’s homeless choir – the Choir with No Name – invites you to join in song together in an afternoon performance in Tate Exchange.

The Choir with No Name runs choirs for people who’ve experienced homelessness and others on the margins. CWNN works on the premise that singing can lift you from those circumstances and make you feel good. Their choir communities provide the support members need to get back on their feet.

The same afternoon offers a discovery in new music created by musicians from the Academy of St Martin in the Fields and people with experience of homelessness from the West London Day Centre. ASMF is one of the world's premier chamber orchestras and has partnered with the West London Day Centre since 1998. This performance sees participants share their work in song writing, composition and improvisation. The Academy will also perform excerpts from their core classical repertoire, which they use to inspire the group.

This event is programmed by the Museum of Homelessness, a Tate Exchange Associate.
