About Art on the Underground

Art on the Underground is a pioneer in commissioning contemporary artworks that enrich the journeys of millions on the Tube every day.

Communications Department forms part of Emma Smith’s new project Televox, commissioned by Art on the Underground. Televox is the first commission in Art on the Underground’s programme which engages communities working and living along the Northern Line Extension (Kennington, Nine Elms, Battersea Power Station).

Emma Smith’s practice incorporates live art, performance and installations, and explores the nature of human relationship and communication through research, collaboration and experimentation.
