For the summer season at Tate St Ives Alex Katz has selected a special display from the Tate collection. Revealing a keen interest in the European tradition, the works span over 200 years and demonstrate his ongoing passion for the potential of painting. The display includes works by Marlene Dumas, Howard Hodgkin, Gary Hume, Franz Kline, Thomas Lawrence, Piet Mondrian, William Nicholson, Francis Picabia, Henri Rousseau, Walter Sickert, Chaïm Soutine, George Stubbs, Luc Tuymans.
