Tracey Emin was born in London in 1963 and grew up in Margate. She is one of the most prominent members of the generation of young artists that emerged in London in the early 1990s.
Emin’s work is largely based on her own personal experiences such as her family, the abuse she suffered as a teenager, and her sexual history. She has always used writing as a part of her process and has produced works in a variety of media from embroidery collage to live performance and neon signs.
Tracey Emin’s work is famous for being self-confessional and unashamedly honest
but was she prepared to answer your questions? We invited you to submit questions
