Seona Reid

I am currently Chair of the National Theatre of Scotland, Chair of the British Council Scottish Advisory Committee and on the Board of the Edinburgh International Cultural Summit. My professional career has spanned art and design education, arts policy and funding, dance and theatre, most recently serving as Director of the Scottish Arts Council (1990-1999) and Director of the Glasgow School of Art (1999-2013).

I have held a wide number of positions in public life, including most recently Deputy Chair of the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Chair of its Scotland Committee, Scotland’s Commissioner on the UK-US Fulbright Commission, Chair of Cove Park Artist Residency Centre in Argyll and a member of the Advisory Panel to the UK Cultural Cities Enquiry. I also serve as a Panel member for Children’s Hearings Scotland.

I am a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and of the Royal Society of Arts, an Honorary Professor of the University of Glasgow and was awarded a DBE in 2014 for services to the creative industries.
