This page contains four distinct landscape sketches. The views have not been conclusively identified but Turner’s inscription beneath the drawing in the bottom left-hand corner indicates that at least one of the studies depicts the town of Le Pont-de-Beauvoisin, on the border between Isère and Savoy. For a fuller description and a more detailed sketch see folio 57 (D14080).
The two uppermost vistas appear to include the same building on the banks of a river, probably the River Guiers, a tributary of the Rhône which runs through the two sides of Le Pont-de-Beauvoisin.
