This sketch continues the view looking south-west from the Casino di Raffaello towards the Pincian Hill and the Villa Medici which extends on the opposite sheet of the double-page spread, see folio 46 verso (D16237; Turner Bequest CLXXXVIII 45a). Faintly outlined along the horizon in the distance is the dome of St Peter’s.
