Almost certainly Clifton Hampden with its church on a bluff above the Thames, as seen also in a sighter sketch on folio 34 verso of the sketchbook (D05887). Turner’s inscription, which Finberg read as ‘“Wellingham” or “Walsingham”’, would thus denote Wittenham, nearby.
