There are five separate sketches here: from the top, a stretch of coastline, another, seemingly at Deal, with signal poles (see also folio 30 verso of the sketchbook, D10461; Turner Bequest CXL 27a), a third perhaps with Walmer Castle to left, the inscribed detail of the castle, and three figures.
