Continuing from folio 62 verso (D13691; CLXVII 59a), this is a view of Edinburgh from the Water of Leith in the north of the city. The river itself is half hidden by trees on both banks at the bottom of this page, while behind Edinburgh Castle looms above with the dome of St George’s Church in Charlotte Square on the right and the Braid Hills in the distance. The eastern half of the city is shown on the continuing page with Arthur’s Seat, Calton Hill and St Giles’s Cathedral.
