There are three sketches associated with Roslin Castle on this page. At the top left is the continuation of a sketch of Roslin Castle on folio 79 verso (D13715; CLXVII 71a), here showing the chapel. The chapel is directly north of the church so in this view from the south-east it appears on the right. In the top right corner of the page is a small sketch of the castle from the north-west (the opposite side to the sketch on folio 79 verso), with the bridge to the gatehouse on the left and the keep on the right. Finally at the bottom of the page is a very faint sketch of ‘Roslyn’ (Roslin) Castle and the North ‘Esk’ river from the north-west. The castle itself is extremely faint but the outline of the keep and bridge can be made out. In the foreground are the large boulders at the bottom of the glen, and the thick copse covering the banks of the river at this point.
