For Lake Lucerne and Turner’s journey by boat to Fluelen, see especially folio 41 of this sketchbook (D04698). David Hill convincingly associated this sketch with another of a crowded sailing boat in a similar setting on folio 55 (Tate D04712), which he relocated from Finberg’s Lake Thun to the Bay of Uri on Lake Lucerne. Hill’s new title is adopted here for both sketches.
