Turner drew this unfinished pencil sketch of a seated female figure on the verso of Banditti, a vignette for Rogers Italy (see Tate D27681; Turner Bequest CCLXXX 164). The drawing may be a preliminary study for the woman who appears in the lower left of the vignette. However, it is also possible that the two drawings are unrelated.
