With the sketchbook inverted are sketches of distant mountains. The drawing is too rough and there is too little detail to identify the location, but the Lake District is likely considering the shape and height of the peaks. A sketch on folio 19 (D25559) where the sketches continue slightly, is suggestive of St Johns-in-the-Vale, a valley that lies between high mountain ridges to the south-east of Keswick. It may be these ridges that are depicted on this page.
