With the sketchbook inverted is a view that probably depicts Brough Castle in Cumbria (see folio 36; D25593). The outline of the castle is faint, but if it is compared to sketches on folios 37 verso (D25596) and elsewhere the keep and the earthwork upon which it stands are discernible. Beneath the sketch is a view of the surrounding hills.
