With the book inverted are two sketches made during Turner’s visit to Dryburgh Abbey. At the left is a continuation of a sketch on folio 74 (D26060; CCLXVII 76) of the view looking north from near the abbey, showing in this page the twisting route of the River Tweed. At the right of the page is a sketch of part of the ruins of the abbey.
