Looking east up Glencoe, this sketch includes in the foreground a flurry of scribbles that may represent the rapid motion of the River Coe where it flows out of Loch Achtriochtan at the western end of the glen (see folio 31; D26801). Rising high above to the right is the shoulder of Bidean nam Bian with Aonach Dubh, the most westerly of the Three Sisters. At the left is the Notched Ridge (Aonach Eagach).
