David Wallace-Hadrill and Janet Carolan have suggested that this sketch of a ruin with hills beyond may be Castle Stalker seen from Loch Linnhe. Although the building in the sketch does not closely resemble the castle, the composition as a whole is similar to sketches of Castle Stalker on folio 38 verso (D26814).
