The Sound and island of Kerrera are seen in this sketch from Gallanach Bay, two miles south of Oban with the Gallanach Cliffs in the foreground.1 The sketch belongs to a series of views that Turner made of Gallanach, the Sound of Kerrera, the island of Kerrera, Dunollie Castle and Carding Mill from around this location (folios 76 verso–79; D26891–D26896).
